Sara Cortez // Mini Epic

Great route! There's no better month to do this than in April, otherwise prepare for a long hot day in the saddle. We didn't run out of water and when we did we were already at the visitor center. If we're going to do the longer route unsupported next time, I'd bring more snacks and maybe a parked SAG vehicle somewhere in the middle. We were never too far from the road.

There was a little area by Montebello where the GPS wanted to go through a section of the trail that was closed for bikes, but a little reroute and we got back on the course.

This ride is amazing: a little bit of road, singletrack, open space preserve after another, a creek crossing, some technical bits but mostly beautiful views of wide, rolling hills of grass and wildflowers.
